What is the difference between a hotel and a Hostel?

A hostel is a type of accommodation in which there are several shared areas for guests to interact. They are usually cheaper than hotels, as you can choose a room with more people. In addition, the hostels offer a communal kitchen, a common area to relax, have a drink and chat. We at OXE Hostel offer free breakfast and all the amenities to make your trip excellent.

SALVADOR - BOIPEBA ISLAND
Salvador > Bom Despacho
In SSA take a transport to the Sào Joaquim maritime terminal. Board the Ferry Boat towards Bom Despacho. The crossing takes around 1 hour and departure is every hour.
 
Bom Despacho > Valença
OPTION 1:
Bom Despacho > Valença - Bus
At Bom Despacho bus station, take the Cidade do Sol bus towards Valença.
The journey takes around 2h/2h40. Get off at the Valença bus station and continue to the Valença River Terminal, the journey is about 1.5km
 
OPTION 2:
Bom Despacho > Valença - Car
Charter a car that will take you from Bom Despacho to the Valença river terminal. The journey takes around 1h40.

OPTION 3: 
Bom Despacho > Graciosa - Bus
At Bom Despacho bus station, take the Cidade do Sol bus towards Valença. The journey takes around 2h/2h40. Get off at Valença Bus Station and take the Expresso Boipeba bus (free), towards Graciosa. The journey is around 14km and takes around 20 minutes.
 
Salvador > Valença - land only
You can also rent a car with our partner drivers and make the entire land journey to Valença. The car picks you up in Salvador, and goes straight to the Valença river terminal. The journey takes an average of 4h/4h30.
 
Graciosa or Valença > Boipeba Island
At one of the two river terminals, take the express boat towards Ilha de Boipeba and get off at the pier in Velha Boipeba. The journey takes around 50 minutes to 1h10.

Salvador > Moreré - maritime
You can also charter a boat with one of our sailors and partners and go from Salvador straight to Moreré. The trip takes around 3 hours.

When you arrive on Boipeba Island, walk to one of the quad bike stops. 
The closest point to the pier is Ponto do Ribeirinho - reference point: Museu de Ossos.

Do you have restaurant service?

We offer free breakfast from 8am to 10am. The kitchen opens on specific days, with special dishes open to the public. You can find the kitchen schedule in the week's news on OXE news.

Is it possible to cook at the Hostel?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it is possible. We have a well-equipped kitchen with all the necessary utensils to prepare your meals. We also have a lunch/dinner menu on some days of the week, but don't worry, we'll let you know in advance so you can plan ahead. 
And remember: in a Hostel, after using the kitchen, leave the utensils clean and organized, as other people will use the space after you.

What are the arrival and departure times?

We don't have opening hours, but it is part of the Rules of Good Coexistence in a Hostel not to make noise when you return after 10pm.

Check-in: from 14:00 until 21:30.Check-out: until 12:00
